Burbank highlight
Major media and entertainment studios
Burbank hosts the largest concentration of major film and television studios in California, employing tens of thousands.
More major media companies operate from Burbank than from any other single city. Walt Disney maintains its animation and live-action production headquarters there. Warner Bros. operates one of the largest working studio lots in the world from Burbank. NBC, ABC, and other broadcast networks have television production facilities and corporate offices in the city. Lockheed Martin's aerospace division, now known as Lockheed Skunk Works, developed advanced military aircraft from Burbank for decades and left a legacy of engineering and industrial heritage.
These companies employ thousands of production professionals, engineers, writers, artists and support staff. The studios attract permanent residents in the entertainment industry and those who work in industries that depend on it: catering, equipment rental, post-production services, and trade businesses. Many families in Burbank work in multiple shifts across the entertainment calendar, managing schedules and income streams tied to production cycles.
For households with income tied to entertainment production, planning for income stability means understanding how season cycles affect cash flow. A life insurance policy sized to cover the gap between projects protects the households and children who depend on that work getting you through slower seasons.
